Our new website has been in the lab since January and looks like being ready very soon. Creating quality marketing strategies for our clients has taken priority over our own site, but we are now in the finishing straight of the project. We have been trialling a range of formats in order to get the perfect mix for our clients and we have settled on the WordPress format using the Thesis theme. The thinking behind this choice was quite simple, having surveyed over 30 different formats and tested each thoroughly for their strengths and weaknesses with regard to three issues, we saw WordPress using the Thesis theme finish head and shoulders above all the other candidates. The three categories that the different formats had to satisfy us with were
- Useability……..The format needed to have a very simple interface that in a matter of minutes our clients would be able to add a new page to their site, add new information onto their site, add photos or videos easily or simply to correct a spelling or grammatical error they had made. For too long websites have contained out of date information with errors and business owners felt powerless to do anything about it as their web developer was not interested in corrections or updates without crazy fees. This is simply not necessary, all our clients must have the opportunity to easily keep their site upto date if they want to(we will always offer full maintenance if that’s what our client wants).
- Naturally Optimized……..The format needed to lend very strong structural properties to a website built on it to maximise the chances of the site getting highly ranked in Google.
- Flexibility of Design…….The format needed to allow a lot of customization and flexibility to allow great looking websites.
So WordPress and Thesis not only satisfied all of the above but over delivered in all 3 areas, i hope you will enjoy our new site when it goes live next week.
