“SEO is like moving your shop from the desert to the Queen Street Mall”

In conversation with a client today, he referred to his discovery of SEO and the changes that we made to his website and the impact it had on his business and he put the whole concept in a nutshell, he said “You know what, when i first heard of SEO i had no idea what it was or why i should be interested in it but i now realise without it, it is like having a shop in the desert, where you may see a few people pass by every year and pop in to look around your shop, but after having SEO, it is like picking up that shop and moving it to the Queen Street Mall, where thousands of customers come by and then it is up to me to sell to them. The amazing thing is”, he said “is that i pay the same rent for my shop in the desert as i do for my shop on the Queen street mall”. I have asked him to record this onto a video because that is what SEO is in a nutshell, moving your website onto the high street where all the customers are instead of the back street where they need GPS to find you. This client employs 15 staff and has a 7 figure turnover but SEO should be a no brainer for all businesses whether they sell to the public or Business to Business.
