You see at the end of 2009, Google rolled out something they called Web search personalization, i won’t go over it all again as we covered it in May in the post Google personalization……Don’t Let it fool you . The bottom line is unless you perform a very simple function the likelihood is that your own website will have an artificial ranking on your computer. As mentioned in the above post, to get a true reflection of where your website sits in the Google rankings for a particular search term, you should either search using a computer unencumbered by your own search bias OR you should perform a simple operation that is outlined here .
